About Us

As a current major exporter of U.S. crude oil, the Coastal Bend is home to important oil infrastructure in the local economy. BWTX is a proposed offshore deep water port project which, if built, would provide U.S. oil producers additional infrastructure for the export of increasing U.S. crude oil supplies. The BWTX project would allow large crude oil export vessels to be safely, efficiently and cost-effectively loaded offshore via a single point mooring (SPM) buoy. The U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) in cooperation with other regulatory agencies is currently evaluating the permit application for the proposed project.

The SPMs for BWTX would be sited approximately 21 nautical miles east of the entrance to the Port of Corpus Christi and would include new pipeline infrastructure along 55 miles of onshore, inshore and offshore routes. The BWTX design focuses on environmental stewardship and safe, efficient and reliable operations. For additional project details please see the link to Project Details or View MARAD Application.

The proposed BWTX project includes two new 30-inch pipelines along 55 miles of onshore, inshore and offshore routes, an operations facility Harbor Island and two, offshore single point mooring buoys.
